Intro to tech paper

The tools and resources used in the classroom over time have been reflections of the technologies available to both teachers and students. As those technologies have changed, so has the classroom. Teachers who can successfully incorporate these new tools and resources are able to at once enhance their teaching and guide students through the often murky waters of technologies such as the internet, streaming video, and digital projects. As a future educator, I see that the most important role of the teacher in the area of using technology in the classroom is one of guidance. As a guide, my role is to see clearly the purpose, means, and outcome of using technology. The purpose of using technology in the classroom is to enhance learning, and to reflect in the classroom "the world [students] know and see as their own." The means of achieving this is through sheltered and guided use of audio-visual, internet, and computer program resources. The expected outcome is that students will become savvy users of technology who can think critically about, and engage responsibly with, the world beyond the classroom.

  1. I think your reflection has a good philosophical approach and keeps in mind the main facets of using technology. Are there any specific programs you like using so far in technology? I regret I did not leave a super long para for you; I was very pointed and literal in my response. But, here I go for my second response. Cheerio!
